My web site enables me to house my interests in Genealogy and following up the various origins of the Higgins and Friis families.

I have an interest of Meccano, both collecting and building which I have been involved with since I recieved my first set at 13 years of age. I got back into meccano in the 90,s and my interest in it has continued on and off up till the present. I am an active member of the New Zealand federation of meccano modellers and often exhibit models at model x and at the Meccano Conventions run by the federation at main locations in New Zealand every two years. The next will be in Christchurch in 2009.

Also I enjoy exploring the remains of New zealand and overseas coastal artilliary fortifications and investigating the cannon that were used in them.

My interest in pentax screwmount cameras goes back 20 years to my first pentax spotmatic camera, a camera that could do anything that was asked of it. I now have a collection of most of the common varieties of pentax screwmount cameras , excluding those very early models that fetch unheard of prices. The digital age has ment that most of these workhorses are now in retirement.
